Sikh diaspora condemns attack on Dhadharianwale, calls for peace

Condemning the brutal attack on Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadhrianwale near Ludhiana, the Sikh diaspora has appealed to the community to restore peace.

They have also urged the authorities to trace the people, who are trying to disrupt peace in the region.

Jathedar Gurbachan Singh, the chief of Sikhs highest temporal seat Sri Akal Takht, strongly condemned the attack and said those who have conspired and attacked Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadhrianwale should be booked.

"It is my appeal to the Sikhs to maintain peace," he said.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee (SGPC) also condemned the incident.

SGPC president Avtar Singh expressed that some miscreants are trying to disrupt peace in the region. He hoped that the culprits would be behind the bars soon.

American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) has also condemned the attack on Dhadhrianwale. AGPC coordinator Pritpal Singh called for peace and tranquillity in the state and asked the Sikhs that violence was not an option and peace must prevail.

Manjit Singh, GK president Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee condemning the attack, said that Punjab has seen the black days and now no one would be allowed to upset the state's atmosphere.

Parmjit Singh Sarna, president Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi), while condemning the attack expressed concerned over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab.

While talking to ANI, Jatinder Singh Aulakh, Police commissioner Ludhiana, said that they are on investigation and hoped that they would arrest the culprit very soon.

Punjab's deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal tweeted "We strongly condemn the attack on Sant Dhadrianwale. DGP instructed to seal district borders & get hold of culprits ASAP".

Dhadhrainwale's cavalcade was on Tuesday attacked by over two dozen persons, who stopped their cars to offer water and then opened fire on the car in which Dhadhrianwale was travelling to attend a religious program.

Dhadhrainwale escaped the attack but his accomplice Bhupinder Singh was killed.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested four people in connection with the case.
