Welsh pop singer Steve Strange died in his sleep at the age of 55 after suffering from heart failure, it has been revealed.
Marc Green, label manager at August Day Recordings, said that they are extremely saddened to announce that Strange died at 11.15 local time on February 12 in Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital, Egypt, the Mirror reported.
Green continued that Strange's family, band members and friends were all distraught at this sudden news of his untimely death and his family had request privacy at this extremely difficult time.
Singer Billy Idol tweeted that it was very sad to hear of his friend passing.
EastEnders star Michelle Collins added that it was sad to hear of the passing of 80s icon and his friend adding that hope would have found some peace.
The Welsh pop singer found fame in the 1980s as frontman for Visage whose best known hit was 'Fade to Grey'.
