Ben Kingsley has revealed that treasures the knighthood as it makes him feel accepted in a way his own mother never did.
The 70-year-old Oscar winning actor said that the knighthood he won in 2002 made him feel accepted in a way his own mother Anna Goodman, never did, and added that she felt only jealousy rather than pride when the news broke, the Mirror reported.
Kingsley, who also opened up about his "uncomfortable childhood", admitted that he was hurt when his mother refused to acknowledge his knighthood as she was "embarrassed and bitter and jealous".
However, the 'Iron Man 3' star confessed that the Queen saying "We accept you and love what you do" made him feel accepted as it was a kind of "embrace" he never got from his mother or the society.
