Sir Cliff Richard will reportedly sue the BBC for filming police raid on his home.

The 74-year-old singer will seek damages for breach of privacy if he isn't charged over an allegation of an historic sexual abuse, the Mirror reported.

A Home Affairs Select Committee report said that no citizen should have to watch on live television their home being raided in this way.

A BBC spokesperson said that the Home Affairs Select Committee had already endorsed the way the BBC handled this story and they had nothing further to add.

In August the BBC dispatched a helicopter to hover over the Berkshire property and positioned reporters at the superstars' gates before police had even arrived.

A boy aged between 11 and 14 alleged that he had been taken into a room and made to carry out a sexual act.

The boy who is now a 40-year-old man , came forward earlier this year to claim that Richard assaulted him during a Christian rally in Sheffield organized by Billy Graham, the American evangelist in 1985.
