England defender Chris Smalling struck a match-winning goal to lead his side to a 1-0 victory against the 10-man Portugal in their final international friendly ahead of the upcoming European Championship here at Wembley Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Smalling headed his first international goal just four minutes prior to the full-time to ensure Roy Hodgson's men conclude their Euro 2016 preparation with a victory.
The match also saw Portugal reduce to 10 men in the 36th minute of the match when Bruno Alves' reckless high kick on Harry Kane's head gave Italian referee Marco Guida no choice but to issue the red card.
The Euro 2016 is slated to be held from June 10 to July 10, with England playing their first match against Russia on June 11 in Marseille, France.
