Union Human Resources and Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani on Sunday lashed out at the Gandhi family for not fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Amethi.
"The people were expecting railway line to Amethi, three generations of Gandhi family couldn't fulfil it," said Irani while addressing a rally in Amethi.
"On February 24, 2015, Rajiv Gandhi charitable trust bought 65 acres of farmer's land. Who got the jobs?" she asked.
"What happened to 65 acres of farmers lands, which was allotted to Samrat Cycles in 80s?" she further asked.
The BJP leader also used the occasion to highlight the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
Irani, who is presently on a visit to Amethi, will distribute insurance coverage money to 25,000 women.
Irani had unsuccessfully contested against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi from the Amethi parliamentary constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
