CPM leader S. Ramachandran Pillai on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy over the solar panel scam issue.
Pillai said a judicial inquiry should be ordered to probe his alleged role in the scam.
"In view of the serious allegations, raised against Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala, about his involvement in the multi-crore solar power scam, he should step down from the post of chief ministership immediately and he should order a judicial probe into the whole matter to bring out the truth," Ramchandran Pillai told the media in New Delhi.
Amidst pandemonium, the Kerala Assembly today passed the Finance Bill-2013 without discussion and adjourned sine die as the CPI-M led LDF Opposition continued to disrupt proceedings demanding Chandy's resignation over the solar panel scam issue.
Chandy, however, said the allegation against him over the issue was part of LDF's political conspiracy, and Congress-led UDF would not succumb to their pressure.
He has so far reiterated his government's commitment to a free and impartial inquiry into the scam without any tampering of the evidence.
