The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi is losing touch with politics and added that it was the Congress and not the BJP, that is removed from realities of India.

"I think it is the time for Sonia Gandhi to realise that it is the Congress Party which is far removed from the realities of India today,' BJP spokesperson GVL Narsimha Rao told ANI.

Rather than making allegations against the BJP and the government at the Centre, it's time that Congress got real with the reality of India's politics today. The Congress Party is moving towards extinction with Sonia Gandhi losing touch with politics. Rahul Gandhi is still not mature to take the reign of the Party," he added.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi had earlier said, "It has become painfully clear that most of the pledges made by the Prime Minister during his election campaign were nothing more than Hawa baazi."

"The economy is on a downward slide while prices continue on their unrelenting rise. As for promises such as the creation of jobs or slogans such as Make in India, the less said about them the better," she said.

The Congress President also said, "The media is being threatened with notices and other repressive measures.
