Sony's mobile unit reported a net loss of $1.2 billion during its fiscal second quarter as its mobile business took a hit.
According to CNET, Sony overall generated $17.4 billion in revenue during its fiscal second quarter, which ended September 30.
The total revenue saw an increase of up to 7.2% as compared with the same period last year, which is attributed to the popularity of the company's PlayStation 4.

However, the company's mobile unit reported a quarterly operating loss of $1.6 billion on 2.8 billion dollars in revenue.
During the period, the unit saw revenue rise 1.2% year over year to $2.8 billion, but eventually saw a $1.6 billion on operating loss, the report added.
