More Americans may be able to travel to Cuba sooner than expected.

President Obama had only recently announced a major policy change towards the isolated nation, but the would-be tourists are all set to scurry towards the country, the Washington Times reported.

Insight Cuba, a non-profit travel organization that has specialized in legal "people-to-people" travel to Cuba for Americans for years, has added 70 additional departure dates to keep up with the sudden surge in interest and bookings since Mr. Obama's revelations.

Tom Popper, president of the group said that people wanted to see Cuba before it changed, and they are offerings tour such as: Undiscovered Cuba, Vintage Cuba, Classic Cuba, Scenic Cuba, and Jazz in Havana - complete with appealing branding.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, an analyst for TravelPulse, an industry source, some 170,000 authorized travelers visited Cuba in 2013, most of which were close relatives of Cubans, academics and people on licensed cultural education programs, who were eligible to visit under guidelines established during the Clinton Administration, said Brian Major.

Major said that with Obama's administration changes, the range of permitted travelers would increase.
