South African fans have criticized the International Cricket Council's (ICC) proposal for greater decision-making powers for 'Big Three" -- the Board of Control for Cricket, England and Wales Cricket Board and Cricket Australia.

The ICC are due to discuss the controversial plan, which has been drafted because of an apparent threat by India to withdraw from major global events unless there is radical reform of the ICC, in Dubai on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The proposal has come under attack from many former cricket legends and luminaries including Ali Bacher, Michael Atherton and Ehsan Mani, while former Proteas player Jonty Rhodes expressed serious doubts the proposal would go forward.

Richard Payne, a Sport24 reader, said it will not take long before Indian fans get bored of only seeing their team play against Australia and England. "You can't have a 'global sport' that is dominated by only three teams," said RB, a South African fan.

Another fan named Avon Asac said: "Why not just get rid of cricket as a whole , as they say the 3 nations can play amongst one another till , the world loses interest."

Jeff Meneses, another reader of Sport24, urged South Africa to boycott if ICC revamp plan went through.

A final decision on ICC's revamp plan would be taken at a follow-up ICC board meeting on February 8.
