South Korean-born New Zealand teenager Lydia Ko has reportedly turned professional at the age of 16 after finishing as runner-up in professional women's golf tournament, the Evian Championship.

According to the Daily Express, Ko has asked the Ladies PGA Tour to waive its age limit of 18 so that she can play a full schedule next season in America.

Reports also said that Ko has won twice on the LPGA Tour and would have earned close to one million dollars this season if she had been playing as a pro.

Meanwhile, the report mentioned that 18-year-old American woman golfer Lexi Thompson was granted the same request by the LPGA Tour two years ago.
