The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) on Friday said the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh is trying to politicise the Ram Temple issue, as assembly polls are due in the state in 2017.
"Samajwadi Party wants to make it a political issue because 2017 is coming. Unfortunately, in this country every year, there is an election. There fore every one wants to raise this issue and connect it with an election. It is wrong to relate this issue with election,"BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI here.
"This is a process which VHP had started long time back but neither VHP nor any organizations have said that we are going to violate the law of this country and build the Ram temple. They are hopeful that the court order will be in their favour," he added.
Singh also accused the Samajwadi Party of playing vote bank politics over the issue.
"Samajwadi Party (SP) should not raise the communal frenzy in the state when it does not exist because they are playing their own card of vote bank politics," he said.

Meanwhile, preparations are on to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Almost six months after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad ( VHP) announced its nationwide drive to collect stones for construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, two trucks of stones arrived in the temple city on Sunday.
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had earlier in Kolkata expressed hope that a Ram temple would be constructed in his lifetime.
"India is rich in religion and culture. Ram is our ideal whom some regard as god and some as a great man ... Society should rise taking inspiration from Ram and Sharad Kothari and prepare for building a grand Ram temple like Somnath," the RSS chief had said in his tweet.
