Spanish authorities on Saturday decided to maintain the country's current terrorist threat alert at level 4, a notch below the maximum level which would signal an attack was imminent.
Spain's Interior Minister Juan Ignacio Zoido on Saturday said that there is no imminent threat of attack, after last week's violence.
In a tweet, Zoido wrote, "After analyzing the reports of the experts in the fight against terrorism, we maintain the level of alert 4 reinforced with additional measures."
Zoido further stated that the terror cell behind Spain's deadly twin attacks has been completely dismantled, as police still hunted for one remaining suspect. The terror cell is believed to have consisted of at least twelve persons.
Spain unfortunately became the victim of two deadly attacks in the northeastern region of Catalonia this week and mowing down of people in Barcelona on Thursday.
The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility of the Cambrils attack, reports AFP quoting the propaganda agency.
