14-year-old's can marry in Spain no more as the country has raised its minimum age of marriage from 14 to 16 to bring it up to the same age as most of Europe.
Till now, Spain had the lowest marrying age in Europe where teenagers aged 14 could marry could with the permission of a judge, the Daily Express reported.
This new law comes only months after the government raised the age of consent from 13 to 16, and the move has received warm welcome from UNICEF and children's rights groups in Spain.
Though the idea was announced in April 2013, it came to effect only now.
