A sparkling Paul Gascoigne, the former England international popularly known as Gazza, made a television return as a football pundit on Sunday and was hailed as being back to his best.
Gazza, who has been battling booze demons, was seen sporting a new goatee beard and cracked away jokes on BT Sport's Fletch and Sav show.
Fans and celebrities across the globe praised the healthy-looking star as he told dozens of hilarious stories, revealing how he once fell through the stadium roof chasing a pigeon at White Hart Lane, the Daily Star reported.
And Gazza reportedly had the room howling when he revealed that it was his family's fault that he did not sign for Alex Ferguson's Manchester United.
Instead the former midfielder joined Tottenham Hotspur after they promised his parents a nice house, and Gazza told how his sister then also demanded a sunbed as part of the deal.
The show was a major success for the troubled Geordie and after the programme he trended worldwide on Twitter, looking fresh and smart as he chatted with other guests including Rio Ferdinand and Ian Wright.

BT Sport pundit Michael Owen admitted that everyone had been glued to the screen as chirpy Gazza left fans in stitches with his tales.
English footballer-turned TV personality Gary Lineker also tweeted that great to see Gazza in such sparkling form, adding that he 'Loves the lunatic'.
Gazza appeared alongside comic Russell Brand in the build up to Tottenham's match with West Ham, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
However emotional Gazza also admitted that he sometimes feels lonely and struggles to watch live matches. He said that he still loves the game but added that he was in tears to his sister and dad last week, claiming that he felt a bit lonely.
Gazza claimed that that's the reason he sometimes finds it hard to go to games. He admitted that he likes watching his old clips but said that it's when he comes to games that he thinks that that could've been him and then analyses himself rather than the players.
