Minority Affairs Minister K Rahman Khan wants the government to constitute a special task force that will look into the detention of 'innocent' Muslim youths implicated in terror charges.

Khan gave the example of the British Government which has formed a special force to tackle terror related matters, ensuring justice to those who are being detained in terror charges.

"I feel it's is a very good step taken by the UK Government. So, I am writing to the Prime Minister and the chairperson of UPA Sonia Gandhi that such measures if taken in India will win the confidence of the minorities," he said.

The Minister expressed his concern over many Muslim youth who are detained for more than ten years without chargesheets.

"Security of nation should not be compromised but at the same time innocent people should not be punished and justice should not be delayed or denied," he said

"This particular high-power committee can review the charges and restrain those who misuse the power of arrest, as there will be a body to look into these matters," he added.
