Manipur is known for producing many good sportspersons and the reason behind that is the number of sporting events that are organized across the state.
The Assam Rifles recently organized an archery competition at its archery range in Imphal. As many as seventy two archers from 16 teams participated in the individual and team events at the competition.
The competition which was organized to help budding players hone their talent was won by the Assam Rifles archery team.
Nepram Arjun Singh, an archer, said that the event has helped the archers a great deal.
"This is a very good experience. It's very helpful for us. We got lots of experience because many clubs are participating together and we are competing. So we had a good experience," Singh said.
Similarly, the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of Government of Manipur held a football competition to improve the standard of football in schools.
