Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has confirmed that he will call the curtains on his glorious career after this year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where he will be aiming to clinch three gold medals.

The 29-year-old had earlier hinted on the possibility of prolonging his Olympic career to the 2020 games in Tokyo, after his coach Glen Mills advised that his fitness could carry him through to Japan.

But the track star confirmed that Rio will be his last Olympics, saying that it would not be easy to keep the motivation level up for four more years.

He also said that he would try to accomplish what he wants to in the upcoming games, Sport24 reported.

Reiterating his desire to become the first man to complete 200 metres in less than 19 seconds, Bolt said that it was the only thing he really wanted to accomplish before taking retirement.

The Rio Olympics is slated to be held from August 5 to August 21.
