Midfielder Leroy Sane missed a great chance to score the winner as Manchester City were held to a frustrating goalless draw against Stoke City in their Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
The 21-year-old, who headed into the match having scored in his previous three consecutive appearances, was once again a livewire down the wing, goal.com reported.
However, Sane's effort went in vain as he was unable to make contact with a great delivery for what would have been a guilt-edge chance in stoppage time.
Meanwhile, David Silva, who was later introduced for the ineffective Jesus Navas, also missed a glorious chance to score 18 minutes from the stoppage time. He , however, did make a big difference to City's attacking play.
A win at the Etihad Stadium would have moved Pep Guaordiola's side above Tottenham and into second place in standings, but they failed to find the attacking spark required to break down the visiting side.
City, who are standing third in the league table with 17 wins from 27 games, will play their next match against Liverpool on March 19.
