Spy is a combination of humour and intelligence carefully crafted together to form an entertaining package.
The story revolves around Susan Cooper (Melissa, just awesome) who is stuck with a boring job behind a desktop. She, it seems, appears to be going nowhere in her career, and it is affecting her self-esteem hugely.
Metaphorically it is seen as if she is working in a rat and bat infested room in the basement of the CIA headquarter in Langely.
Her role is to provide support to her handsome partner Bradley Fine (Jude Law) in his various missions. Fine is the superstar of CIA and Susan is in love with him. She hopes the he considers her as more than just a partner agent.
It all goes for a toss when Fine is compromised while on a mission to trace a nuclear device, and a MI6 agent, Rick Ford (Statham, ridiculously hilarious), who is Fine's counterpart is also compromised.
Therefore, Susan who has never been on a field assignment volunteers and goes undercover. It made sense, as she is not known to the bad guys, and thus, cannot be suspected.

She is sent to Paris to watch over the daughter of an arms dealer Rayna (Rose Byrne) and an Italian playboy terrorist Sergio (Bobby Cannavale), who is to buy a nuclear warhead from Rayna.
Lia (Nargis Fakhri) who plays Sergio's girlfriend has an action packed cameo in the movie. Susan then decides to take matters into her hands and embarks on a hilarious and action packed journey to prevent the sale of the nuke.
The director Paul Feig has done a good job in finely crafting a spy genre movie into an action packed hilarious ride. The strongest characters in the movie are females namely; Susan, Rayna and Susan's CIA boss Elaine (Alison Janney). All in all, it is a fun filled and entertaining ride of a CIA mission.
