A Sri Lankan court today granted bail to the nation's former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
The Colombo High Court also granted bail to two others, and released all three on Rs. 100,000 cash bail each with a surety of Rs. 1 million each, reports the Colombo Page web site.
Rajapaksa, former Secretary of the Economic Development Ministry Nihal Jayathilake and former Divineguma Fund Director General R.R.K. Ranawaka were arrested on April 22 by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) of Police in connection with an alleged financial fraud at the Divi Neguma Department which was under the purview of the former Economic Development Minister.
