Start-up India movement begins today: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the 'Start-up India' movement will begin today, adding that the movement celebrates the energy and enterprising spirit of the youth of the nation.

Prime Minister Modi took to twitter and wrote, "#StartupIndia movement begins today. This movement celebrates the energy & enterprising spirit of our youth."

"Will join the programme to commence the #StartupIndia movement this evening. Looking forward to interacting with start-up entrepreneurs," he added.

The event will be attended by CEOs and founders of top start-ups from across the country and abroad.

The programme is aimed at promoting financing for the start-ups, and give incentives to boost entrepreneurship.

While delivering his Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort last year, Prime Minister Modi had announced about 'Start-up India, Stand-up India' to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among young people.

In his 'Mann ki Baat' programme last month, the Prime Minister had informed about the unveiling of blueprint for start-ups.

He had said that the 'Start-up India, Stand-up India' programme will connect bright minds and youth all over India who have the talent and the capability to propel India's growth.
