Steve McCrorie has been crowned winner of the 4th series of 'The Voice.'

In his winning speech, the 29-year-old Scottish firefighter, who beat Lucy O'Byrne to claim the title, said with a cracked voice that he was speechless and couldn't thank people enough for doing this for him, the BBC reported.

McCrorie's debut single, which is a cover of 'Lost Stars' from the film 'Begin Again,' was released right after the finale, for first time in the show's history, and was at top of the iTunes chart at the time of writing.

The original song by Adam Levine was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year.

The singer said that aimed to achieve the feat to be a "successful and sustainable artist" unlike his predecessors, as so far Andrea Begley has been the only winner who made it to top 10 with her debut album, The Message, at number seven in 2013.

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, who steered McCrorie to victory by, said that his victory was all thanks to him being the "favourite all along" due to his "connecting with people."

McCrorie said that people saw something in him that he couldn't and it would still take some time to sink in that he actually won.
