Former England wicketkeeper Alec Stewart has said that yet again this Ashes series his team has got themselves into a decent position but have then been unable to force home the advantage.
According to the Mirror, Stewart said that England are clinging onto the Ashes only by their finger tips.
They have a huge task ahead to keep the precious, little urn in their grasp, he added.
Going into this third Test in Perth 2-0 down at a ground where they have lost their last six games was not the ideal scenario, he further said.
With Australia struggling at 143-5 on day one there is no way they should have got to 385, Stewart opined.
However, Stewart also said that the bigger question is, are the Ashes going to stay with England or after three consecutive series losses are the Aussies about to win them back.
