Children on street are being exploited and forced to sell themselves for as low as 1.30 pounds to the football fans who have come to Recife for Brazil World Cup, it has been revealed.

According to the Mirror, the kids who live in absolute filthy areas and are high on crack cocaine and glue, are made to wear grown up clothes and make-up to make them look older by the drug dealers and pimps.

The children smell the bottles of industrial glue, which makes them feel dizzy and numb, to stop their hunger pangs and help them cope with the danger on the streets.

The appalling trade of young girls and boys had been taking place right under the noses of the authorities in the country's fifth largest city, Recife, which will host five World Cup matches.

However, police commander, Major Angelo, could not remember the last case they had dealt with of a child either selling themselves for sex or being sold by an adult, as it was such a long time ago.

Angelo said that they were taking the issue of fans looking for sex with children very seriously and had even set up a helpline for the same.
