17 time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer swept past Andy Murray in straight sets of 6-0, 6-1 to secure a place in the semifinals of the ATP World Tour Finals.

It took just 56 minutes for World number two to win his third Group B match. The match resulted in a humiliating loss for Andy Murray since he lost 6-1,6-0 to Novak Djokovic in Miami seven years ago.

In light of his performance against Murray, Federer said that he was very relaxed since he knew he has already qualified and it brought out the best in him. He also said that he didn't expect the match to go like this. However he believes that Murray can come back next year strongly, The BBC reported.

On the other hand, Murray expressed his dismay over his performance but admitted that had he even played better, Federer would have still won the game as he played exceptionally.

Federer kept his outside hopes of ending the year as world number one alive by entering the semi-finals, although Djokovic can end that race should he beat Tomas Berdych on Friday.
