The brother of the Sudanese woman who was sentenced to death for apostasy has said that his sister deserves to be executed if she refuses to renounce her Christian faith and return to Islam.

According to New York Daily News, Al-Samani al-Hadi, who claims to be the brother of a 27-year-old Mariam Yahya Ibrahim, who was sentenced to death for converting from Islam to Christianity, believes that the woman was fed 'potions' by her Christian husband to force her into switching religions.

The brother said that if Ibrahim refuses to give up her faith, she should be executed, adding that if she dies, it would mean that God's word has been enforced.

Al-Hadi claims that his sister was a Muslim before she met her Christian husband.

He further said that the Sudanese mom, who had gone missing last July, was 'bewitched' when the family found her after 45 days.

However, Ibrahim, who was arrested when she was pregnant and gave birth in jail, claims she was raised a Christian after her Muslim father deserted her Christian mother, and has appealed her execution, the report added.
