Condemning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's talks regarding the Indo - Japan ties, Congress leader Manish Tewari today said that it is ironical that those people who brought a no confidence motion against the government in 2008 have today discovered the virtues of nuclear power.

Tewari told ANI, "It is ironical that those people who brought a no confidence motion against the government in 2008, on the issue of the INDO-US civil co-operation, which demolished 28 years of nuclear apartheid, have today discovered the virtues of nuclear power."

"For six long years they kept opposing the entire nuclear initiative which UPA had taken. And all of a sudden they have woken up to the virtues of nuclear power. So, I can only say that long live political opportunism", he added.

Earlier today terming the 21st century as an Asian era, during a business luncheon programme organised by the Nippon B Keidanren, Japan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prime Minister Narendra said India and Japan must work together to ensure both peace and development for mankind.

He also talked about India collaborating with Japan in the field of research and development, which he said has an no end to it.
