The Minister of Women and Child Development, Maneka Gandhi, on Monday said that a number of suggestions have been thought of regarding the safety of students, following a high-level meeting with the CBSE officials.
She said, "We had a meeting with the HRD Minister and we have suggested certain things. Some of the suggestions are like making the presence of female staff mandatory in the vehicles, child line booths and e-box etc. which were discussed today."
She also said that all these ideas are in the process of being timelined.
"There will be a meeting of six secretaries, who will then decide on the timeline of these implementations. We will let you know when this happens," she said.
Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar was also present at the meeting.
The Haryana government on Sunday made it mandatory for all government and private schools to install CCTV cameras covering entire premises, to constitute safety committees, ensure safe to and fro transportation facility for students and take steps in generating awareness among the students' on good touch and bad touch as well as internet hazards.
This comes in the wake of the gruesome killing of a seven-year-old boy at the Ryan International School in Gurugram.
