At least 12 police officials in Afghanistan got killed after a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle packed with explosives into the military base.
The attack took place late on Wednesday in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, the Khaama Press reported.
Confirming the attack, the provincial police spokesman Zia Durani said, "A base of the security forces was targeted in Maruf district."
"Attackers rammed a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) into a joint military base, which they had planted the explosives into a Humvee armored personnel carrier," he added.
Durani also stated that attack also injured at least four people. And those killed were members of the intelligence, national and border police personnel.
Taliban insurgents group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Earlier this month, a suicide bomber had targeted a convoy of Romanian forces' in southern province of Kandahar.
The suicide bomber blew up his explosive-laden car close to the convoy causing damage.
Recently, Taliban insurgents have stepped up their insurgency activities in Kandahar province and the growing insurgency comes amid deteriorating security situation in the key southern provinces including Helmand which lies close to Kandahar province.
