Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said here on Friday that as per the action plan of an investigation process, key witnesses in the alleged January 2014 murder case of Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor, have been asked to undergo a polygraph test.

"An investigation is conducted as per an action plan and an investigating officer keeps reviewing his investigation by taking up forensic examination of the scene, the evidence available, so forth.

At this juncture, there is nothing more to be read into the matter except for the lie detector test that we have demanded of the key witnesses in the Pushkar case," Bassi told the media here.

"We are yet to receive any more inputs from the FBI on the matter," he added.

The Delhi Police, which is investigating the alleged murder of Sunanda Pushkar, wants a lie detector test on three witnesses close to the couple. The Tharoors' domestic help, Narain Singh, driver Bajrangi and family friend Sanjay Dewan are ones who have asked to appear for the polygraph test.

According to reports, these witnesses are under suspicion for remaining silent on certain aspects of the case. All three witnesses have been summoned by the court on May 20.

Shashi Tharoor has been questioned thrice on the alleged murder of his wife, who was found dead in their hotel suite on January 17 last year, days after she publicly accused her husband of having an affair with Pakistani journalist, Mehr Tarar.
