Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has hailed his side's Premier win over title hopefuls Manchester City as the 'biggest in his career' and warned the club's relegation rivals by saying 'Sunderland is coming'.
Sunderland player Phil Bardsley secured his side's second league win of the season with a first half strike which condemned City to a fourth consecutive 1-0 loss at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
According to the Mirror, Poyet hailed his side and said that in terms of opposition, quality and world class players, this is the biggest win of his managerial career, adding that the players need to be convinced that this new way of playing football and defending is working well for the future.
The former Chelsea player further said that 'belief' has returned to his squad, whom he backed to succeed in their mission to climb to safety given the 'change of atmosphere', adding that he feels that the other teams should be now getting wary of Sunderland.
Poyet also said that although fans want to see a team attacking and creating chances, he fears that when a team is too open, it is going to give chances to the opposition, adding that their current three wins in a row has given them a home strength and a support to stay up in the Premier League.
