The chairman of Bharti Airtel, Sunil Mittal, has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre to help the Indian companies to pick up the markets abroad.
Addressing the concluding session on "The soft power of Indian enterprise" during the two-day event held here, Mittal said the companies expect more help from the government arms abroad, like the embassies and high commissions, to expand their businesses.
The chairman of Bharti Airtel pointed out as to how the US Government is quietly helping big companies like Apple, Face Book, Google and others to retain their dominance when challenged by companies from the other countries.
He said the other countries in Europe and China also do the same while the Indian businesses are left to deal with the situation themselves.
Mittal, however, said that the situation is changing fast after the new government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge.
He also sought better cooperation between Indian industries and the Japanese businesses that have huge funds to invest.
