Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi has filed a defamation case against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national spokesperson Manoj Jha and state spokesperson Chitranjan Gagan for denting his image by levelling baseless charges against him of owning properties in Patna and outside the state.
Taking to Twitter, the BJP leader confirmed that he had filed a defamation suit against the RJD leaders.
Sushil filed the suit in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CGM) court under Sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
He said that the RJD leaders had made allegations about him of owning property in Rajendra Nagar in Patna, moving around in BMW cars in Delhi and Mumbai and holding black money in companies of Delhi and Kolkata.
The BJP leader also appealed to the court to take cognizance of the matter and summon the RJD leaders by issuing warrant against them.
Asserting that the baseless allegation made by the RJD leaders had maligned his reputation, Sushil also demanded stern action against the duo.
Sushil alleged that both the leaders had made baseless and false allegations against him during a press conference in Patna.
