External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday embarked a three-day official visit to Azerbaijan's capital city Baku to participate in Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Conference.
The NAM Mid-Term Ministerial Conference will be held in Baku on 5-6 April under the theme of "Promoting international peace and security for sustainable development".
During the visit, EAM will hold bilateral consultations with her Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on April 4, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.
The two sides will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest.
India and Azerbaijan enjoy warm and friendly relations based on historical and cultural ties.
"They have growing bilateral cooperation in many areas including energy, transportation, and capacity building," the statement added.

EAM Sushma Swaraj will attend the Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) on April 5-6.
"As a founding member of NAM, India remains committed to the purposes and principles of the Movement. External Affairs Minister's participation in the NAM Ministerial Meeting will underline India's continued active and constructive engagement within the Movement with a view to further strengthen solidarity and cooperation among its Member States," the MEA, said, in a statement.
