External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, currently in South Korea on a two-day official visit, on Sunday met Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Yoon Sang-Jick and sought support from his nation for India's 'Make in India' programme.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin took to twitter to share details of the meeting between the two leaders.

"Encouraging Korean companies to avail of opportunities in India Minister Yoon Sang-jick to Minister @SushmaSwaraj," he tweeted.

"East or West the charm of India's culture is transcendental. Friends of India welcome Minister @SushmaSwaraj in Seoul," he added.

Meanwhile, official sources suggest that the two leaders discussed the possibility of South Korean co-production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers with Indian shipyards as well as addressing the trade deficit which is in favour of Seoul.

Sources also indicate that Swaraj raised the need for a level playing field for Indian pharmaceuticals and software exports.
