The External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday congratulated Sri Lanka's new Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera on his appointment and also invited him to visit the country.
Sushma Swaraj took to twitter for extending her congratulatory message.
"Congratulations to my friend Mr.Mangala Samaraweera on his appointment as Foreign Minister of SriLanka. @MangalaS," she tweeted.
The spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Syed Akbaruddin also tweeted confirming the same.
"Minister @SushmaSwaraj calls new Sri Lankan External Affairs Minister @MangalaS, congratulates him and invites him to India," he tweeted.
"First visit..In response to Minister @SushmaSwaraj's invitation, Sri Lanka's Extrl Affairs Minister @MangalaS to visit India on 18th January," he added.
