The Ministry of External Affairs announced on Friday that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be visiting Mauritius from November 1-3.
"During her visit to Mauritius, Sushma Swaraj will be meeting her counterpart. She is also scheduled to call on Mauritius President Kailash Purryag and Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam," Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin told the media here.
Akbaruddin further stated that during her visit, Swaraj will discuss matters of interests pertaining to both nations, including the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA).
"As far as the DTAA is concerned, we have an agreed format with Mauritius. All issues pertaining to this matter will be discussed by the minister during her visit," he said.
India is Mauritius' largest trading partner and has been the largest exporter of goods to Mauritius since 2007. In the financial year 2012-2013, India exported goods worth USD 1.31 billion and imported goods worth USD 28.49 million. There are over 10,000 Indian nationals living in Mauritius, including 6865 work permit holders and 696 professional occupation permit holders.
