External Affairs Minister (EAM), Sushma Swaraj on Sunday departed for a four-day visit to Vietnam and Cambodia.

In Vietnam, Swaraj is scheduled to co-chair the 16th meeting of the Joint Commission along with her Vietnamese counterpart, Pham Binh Minh. She will also call upon Vietnam's Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

"The visit of EAM to Vietnam and Cambodia will provide an opportunity to hold in-depth discussions with the political leadership on a wide range of global, regional and bilateral issues and advance our strategic engagement with these countries and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.

Earlier this month, Swaraj participated in the World Hindi Conference in Mauritius. She also visited Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and held bilateral meetings there.
