Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Saturday said that there was no need to panic over the rise in swine flu cases in the first two weeks of January.
"We have to be cautious, alert about it but need not to get panic," Nadda said.
"The virus of swine flu is activated and that is why very much prevalent in the atmosphere," the Minister added.
Nadda also said that the hospitals have got all the facilities and that the health ministry is ready to tackle the situation.
"Our hospitals have got adequate arrangements for it, adequate medicines are there," he said.
He also appealed that a patient found with any symptoms of swine flu should be admitted to the hospital as soon as possible.
As per reports, a 51-year-old woman from Ghaziabad died of multiple organ failure at Delhi's Ganga Ram hospital on Wednesday, after testing positive for swine flu.
