Syria has claimed that Israel has carried out two air strikes near the capital city of Damascus.
A statement released by the Syrian military accused Israel of attacking areas near the Damascus International Airport and the town of Dimas. It termed the air strikes an act of "direct aggression" carried out to support the Syrian government's opponents, reported the BBC.
The statement added that some installations had been damaged without elaborating on what had been hit.
No casualties have been reported and there has been no confirmation of the air raids from Israel.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors the Syrian conflict, said that 10 explosions were heard near Dimas. It also said that there were eight air strikes on areas in the town of Khan al-Sheeh, on the eastern outskirts of the capital. A warehouse close to the Damascus airport had also been hit, it said.
Syria has been the target of several Israeli air strikes since 2011.
