A team of youth ambassadors, all college students from Taiwan, visited Amity University as part of the cultural exchange programme. Initiated by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in 2009, the programme was aimed at enhancing the mutual understanding, strengthening cultural exchanges between India and Taiwan.

"Amity has always maintained cordial relations with Taiwan and has been running the Taiwan Education Centre (TEC) since June 2012," said Amity University vice chancellor Dr. B Shukla.

Minister of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India (TECCI) Frances Lee expressed her heartfelt gratitude and appreciated the university for being supportive and hosting the youth ambassadors. TECCI Ambassador Tien Chung- Kwang was also present during the occasion.

"Taiwan, just like India, is a democratic country with traditional civilization dating back to 5000 years. Taiwan has been absorbing the essence of other Asian civilizations, as a result of which both contemporary and traditional features co-exist in Taiwanese culture. In Taiwan there are over 600 Indian students pursuing their higher studies but there are very few Taiwanese students studying in India. I hope that in future there will be more student exchanges between India and Taiwan, enhancing the mutual love and understanding between both the countries," said Lee.
