The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday said that chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi's campaign manager Narendra Tandon has a history of resigning from the party on petty issues, adding that there is no conflict within the party.
"[Tandon] is not resigning for the first time; this is his third time. Last time, when he was not given a ticket from Parshad, he gave his resignation and stood as an independent candidate. Next, he gave his resignation when Satish Upadhyay was made a minister and not him. There is no friction in the party," said BJP's Delhi unit spokesperson Harish Khurana.
"Each time he gets angry on some petty issue, he tenders his resignation. If there is some problem, then he should sit and talk about it," he added.
Clearing Tandon's position in the party, Khurana said, "He was assisting Dr. Anil Jain, who has been given the task of arranging our party's rallies. Under that only, he was assigned to handle Kiran Bedi's programmes, nothing more than that."
Tandon had earlier in the day resigned from the party, accusing the former IPS officer of insulting him on every issue.
"I could not tolerate the way she gave dictation to us (BJP workers)," said Tandon, in his resignation letter to BJP president Amit Shah.
