Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete, who is currently in India on an official state visit, was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
At the ceremony, President Kikwete met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee as the national anthems of both countries were played.
Prime Minister Modi had earlier welcomed President Kikwete to India on twitter and had said that this visit will further cement the close and friendly ties between India and Tanzania.
During his trip, President Kikwete will hold talks Prime Minister Modi, Vice President Mohammad Ansari and senior government officials.
This is his second visit to India in 10 years of his leadership.
