Dismissing former Pakistan president General Pervez Musharraf's reported statement blaming India for the ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar on Sunday stated that the former's words should not be given any weightage.

"First of all General Musharraf should see that these two are neighboring countries. He should remember the 1971 war which led to the bifurcation of Pakistan. He cannot imagine what will happen to Pakistan if war breaks out," Anwar told ANI here.

"He is speaking the language of Pakistan army as he himself is from the army. His words should not given be any weight age. We should open our diplomatic channels and continue talks," he added.

Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf, has reportedly targeted India blaming it for ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, saying that the latter should stop testing the "patience and resolve" of Pakistani Army.

"Regular ceasefire violations on the LoC by the Indians are not good for the region and deplorable," Musharraf said.

"I think India should stop testing the patience and resolve of the Pakistani Army," he added.

Earlier this morning, Pakistan once again resorted to a major ceasefire violation in the Mendhar and Sawjian Sector of Poonch District. On Friday night, two persons were injured in the Swajian sector during ceasefire violation.

Unprovoked firing and ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir left one dead and injured four civilians on Friday.

Pakistan had earlier violated ceasefire at the shared border on the intervening night of September 30 and October 1. This is however not the first time the ceasefire between both neighbours has been violated.

Kashmir has witnessed almost uninterrupted ceasefire violation by Pakistan since August 15 this year. The fresh violations came after a gap of more than one month along India-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.
