Tata Motors sales rise 8% to 48,648 units in September

In the commercial vehicles segment, the company's domestic sales were down 2 per cent

Homegrown auto major Tata Motors has announced an 8 per cent increase in total sales at 48,648 units in September.

In a statement, the company announced selling of 45,215 units in the same month last year.

"Domestic sales of Tata Motors' commercial and passenger vehicles grew 5 per cent to 42,961 units in September over the same month of the previous year. Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market grew 24 percent to 14,601 units last month as against 11,732 units in the year-ago period," added the statement.

The company aims to witness good sales this festive season, which will continue to October and November.

In the commercial vehicles segment, the company's domestic sales were down 2 per cent at 28,360 units, Tata Motors said.

Exports during the month were up 29 per cent at 5,687 units compared with 4,402 units sold in September 2015.
