English tennis legend Virginia Wade has slammed the current crop of tennis players as 'robots'.

Wade, the last Briton to win a Wimbledon singles title back in 1977, said that although there is a 'mind boggling' difference in the preparations of players of today and yester-years, it is however, at the expense of improvisation, the Daily Express reports.

Calling today's players as good yet robotic, the 67-year-old further said that although her generation was also fit, they tired more easily as compared to the current batch, who are more fitter thanks to an equal amount of hours spent in the gym as spent while playing.

According to Wade, that factor has taken out an element of raw talent from the game.

Meanwhile, Wade said that she wants female players to be more 'scintillating' at Wimbledon.
