Former Grand Slam doubles champion Bob Hewitt has been expelled from the International Tennis Hall of Fame in the wake of his conviction for rape and sexual assault in South Africa last year.

The 76-year-old, who was inducted into the Hall in 1992, was found guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault on minors committed during the 1980s and 1990s.
