An attempted terror attack on Pakistan's Naval Dockyard was prevented whereby one sailor and two attackers were killed and four were detained alive.
According to the Dawn, the militants attempted to forcefully enter into the dockyard on Defence Day following which the security guards started firing, killing one sailor and injuring seven others.
The militants were armed with assault rifles, hand grenades and rocket launchers, said Naval Commander Kamran Asif.
The injured sailors were admitted to a hospital immediately and did not have life threatening wounds.
Individuals who had been planning attacks were taken into custody along with the four militants.
Authorities have not yet commented about which group the militants belonged to.
Various weapons were confiscated during the investigation.
